Cognition on greenary

A seminar on the topic 'cognition on greenery: the role of education on environmental protection & awareness was held at our college on 23rd November 2017 at 10:00 am. The inauguration and presentation was done by Mr. Jain J Theratil, assistant professor, St.Aloysius college,  Elthuruthu, Thrissur .There was also a poster competition. Miss Hima from M.Ed  won the first price and  Miss Nithya from B.Ed physical science won the second price. The third price won by two teams Sainul abid - shruthi from malayalam and Reshma- Athira of Natural science.

The National Bird Watching Day is celebrated on November 12th of every year to mark the birth anniversary of renowned ornithologist and naturalist Salim Ali, known as the ‘The Birdman of India’.

World Animal day is an international day of action for animal rights and welfare celebrated manually on October 4, the feast day of Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals

Congratulations to Reshma K and Shilpa S of 1st semester Natural science B.Ed batch 2017-2019 for securing prize in inter Collegiate Environmental Quiz conducted by Dept of Zoology NSS College, Palappuram in connection with international Ozone day.

                

Science quiz

A science quiz was conducted by 'Haritha' Nature club on 22nd September 2017 at college auditorium(10:00AM-12:00PM).

        There were 10 teams, each team was of 2 students.6 teams were qualified for the quiz programme after the screening test. After 6  rounds and tie breaker students from TRKHSS Vaniayamkulam won the first prize. Students from GHSS Koonathara got the second prize.

       

Ozone day

          September 16 was designated by the United Nations General Assembly as the international day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. This designation had been made on December 19, 2000, in commemoration of the date, in 1987, on which nations signed on the Montreal Protocol Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. 
In 1994, the UN General Assembly proclaimed 16 September the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, commemorating the date of the signing, in 1987, of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.

Green Campus Campaign.........

Calicut university organised Green campus campaign related to its 50th anniversary. The official programme was at St.Thomas' Autonomous college on 16 th August,Thrissur. The campaign at college was inaugurated by principal Dr. Lakshmi K Nair  on 17th august.

GJGCC................

University of calicut Golden Jubilee Green Campus Campaign(GJGCC) was held at St.Thomas Autonomous college,Thrissur on 16th August. First year B.ed students of Physical Science Aswathy.R and Nithya.M.B participated as ambassadors.

Medicinal garden.....milestone

 On 7th August a medicinal garden was made as a pre-inaugural task.
