One Day National Seminar on observing World Wetland Day-2019
As a part of observing
Wetland Day, Haritha Nature Club of N.S.S Training College, Ottapalam, organized a One Day National Seminar on the
topic ”Preserving Wetlands: Balancing Water needs for Humans and Nature” on 8th
February, 2019. The programme was
sponsored by Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment,
Thiruvananthapuram.
During the inaugural
session of the seminar, Dr Ampili Aravind, Principal-in-charge presided over
the function. Dr Mridula K., Co-ordinator of the seminar delivered the welcome
address. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr.Asha Rani K., Nature Education
Officer, Periyar Tiger Foundation. Staff Advisor, Dr Seema Menon K. P., and
student representative Ms Vinduja R Krishna gave the felicitation. The official
inaugural session came to an end with the vote of thanks by Sreekala A., the
secretary of Haritha Nature Club.The expert sessions were handled by Dr Asha Rani K., Nature
Education Officer, Periyar Tiger Foundation and Dr BijuK., Assistant Professor,Dept. of
Education,Central University of Tamilnadu which were followed by interaction sessions.
The paper presentations
by the participants from the college and other institutions were chaired by Dr
Biju K., and Dr K S Sajan.
The one day national
seminar concluded with valedictory session.
The amalgamation of thoughts and ideas during the creative discussion
sessions seemed to be highly useful for the participants. The feedbacks
during the reflection session highlighted the success of the seminar.
