WORLD WILD LIFE DAY OBSERVANCE
World Wild Life Day is celebrated every year on the 3rd March since 2013. The date chosen coincides with the day the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wilf Fauna and Flora (CITES), which was signed in 1973.Haritha Nature Club observed World Wildlife Day on Thursday, 03-03-2022.
WORLD WILD LIFE DAY THEME 2022
“Recovering Key Species for Ecosystem Restoration”. The theme is chooses as a way to draw attention to the conservation status of some of the most critically endangered species of wild fauna and flora. Around more than 8000 species of wild flora and fauna are endangered and close to 30,000 more are known to be on the edge of getting extinct or vulnerable.
PROGRAMMES;
With respect to this day various programmes were organized by first year B.Ed and M.Ed students. The theme was creatively portraited through poems and paintings performed by Beena K, Rasmi S, Nileena Rajan T and Sajini P.
Two competitions were conducted including WhatsApp Status Video Making Competition, coordinated by Nithu C Babu ( M.Ed Student coordinator) and Caption Writing Competition “Word the Wild” by Krishna A V (B.Ed Student Coordinator) as an offline event.
The time and support provided by all optional coordinators and participants were highly appreciated. The winners of both competitions were awarded with prizes.
